Our Story

Welcome to my website and business, Burnt Orchid. My name is Tomas Bromley and I am a Yorkshire based forger and metal worker. I first began developing my interest in producing wooden, copper and steel products, by spending my weekends in the garden carving shapes out of wood as a hobby. As my interest grew so did my skills, I spent hours watching videos and reading books on how to create more things.

I find a real joy in working with raw materials and spaces from scratch and building them into something beautiful that has a new purpose and will last a life-time. There is something very satisfying in creating something with your own hands and seeing the finished product. Working with a variety of materials allows me to continuously experiment with new ideas and designs. Every item produced, is hand-forged and unique.

Burnt Orchid, is a rare flower which can be found in Yorkshire. I chose the name for its unique quality and felt that it reflected my work aptly, as every item I produce is one of a kind. The ‘burnt’ aspect of the name also ties in with the forging element of my work.
